Wisdom and Money | Various Proverbs
For the last several weeks, we have been studying The Wisdom of Proverbs: A Life Well Lived. We have learned that Solomon was the primary author of this book and was focused on teaching his sons how to be wise in God’s good world. This week, we will discuss the very relevant topic of Wisdom and Money. We will learn that money is a valuable tool that requires diligence, but it isn’t ultimate in value. Wisdom and Temptation | Proverbs 7
We are six weeks into our winter series that we have been calling The Wisdom of Proverbs: A Life Well Lived. As we have learned, wisdom comes from the Hebrew word that means skill. Proverbs was written in order to teach people how to live in God’s good world, giving them the skills and abilities needed to please Him. In addition, we have learned that the foundation of this wisdom is the fear of the LORD—this is where a life of understanding begins. This week we will be discussing another topic, Wisdom and Temptation. To be clear, temptation and sin are not the same. Temptation is the invitation to rebel against God, and sin occurs when the invitation is accepted. In this lesson, we will learn how temptation presents evil as safe and enticing while covering up the consequences of sin. Wisdom and Sex | Proverbs 5
Currently, we are in the middle of a sermon series called The Wisdom of Proverbs: A Life Well Lived. Proverbs is one of the wisdom books of the Bible given to God’s people to help them navigate His world well. Specifically, Proverbs reveals how God created the world to work and offers principles as a guide. This week, we will be discussing the topic of Wisdom and Sex. We will learn that sex, designed for a husband and wife within marriage, is a gift and blessing which must be protected. In contrast, all other versions of sex are distortions of God’s design and must be rejected. Though these ideas are often dismissed by culture, they are wise words showing us the path toward abundant life. Listen in as we study and apply these principles to our lives.

Recently we started a new series called The Wisdom of Proverbs: A Life Well Lived. This book is filled with short, punchy sayings rooted in God’s truth aimed at making one wise. The purpose of this series is to teach us to walk in God’s ways which starts with the fear of the LORD. This week we will be discussing the specific topic of Wisdom and Words. Proverbs is so practical, offering guidance on how to navigate the speech we use each and every day. Specifically, we will learn that words can be used to bring blessing or cursing, joy or sorrow, therefore we must use them carefully. Join us this Sunday as we study and apply these principles to our lives.
Wisdom and Humility | Various Proverbs
A few weeks ago, we started a new sermon series called The Wisdom of Proverbs: A Life Well Lived. So far, we have learned that wisdom is the skill of understanding God’s world and possessing the ability to work well within it. The purpose of this series is to help God’s people consider the areas we lack wisdom and seek God to find it. This week, we will be discussing the specific topic of Wisdom and Humility. As we look at various verses in Proverbs, we will learn much about pride and humility. Mainly that the prideful focuses much on self which will lead to destruction, but the humble focuses on God and others which will be to their glory. Listen in as we study and apply these principles to our lives.
Wisdom and Folly | Proverbs 9
Last week we started a new series called The Wisdom of Proverbs: A Life Well Lived. Proverbs presents wisdom as an attribute of God, woven into the fabric of the world, that He wants to teach to His people. The book of Proverbs is primarily written from the perspective of a father instructing his sons on how to be wise. The father wants his son to understand how God has designed life to work and wants to encourage him to live in accordance with “that way”. This week we will be discussing wisdom and folly as we look at chapter 9. We will learn that wisdom is created by God and precious while folly is a rejection of God’s ways and destructive. Listen in as we seek to understand God’s truths and apply them to our lives.
Introduction to Wisdom | Proverbs 1:1-7
This week we are starting a new series called The Wisdom of Proverbs: A Life Well Lived. Over the next several months we will be spending time in the wisdom books of the Bible, starting with Proverbs. Proverbs presents wisdom as an attribute of God, woven into the fabric of the world, that He wants to teach to His people. The book of Proverbs is primarily written from the perspective of a father instructing his son on how to be wise. The father wants his son to understand how God has designed life to work and encourage him to live in accordance with “that way.” We have the same prayer: that God would teach us His ways and we would learn how to walk in them. Listen in as we provide an introduction to wisdom and apply it to our lives. We will see that this book is a collection of sayings, many of them written by Solomon, in order to teach wisdom, which can be summarized as the fear of the LORD.
