The Futility of What Life Has to Offer | Ecclesiastes 1:12-2:26

Last week, we started a new series called The Wisdom of Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun. After spending several months in the book of Proverbs, we now turn to another wisdom book of the Bible. As we do, we will find that this writing is quite different from Proverbs, offering a more complex and sobering perspective on life. This week in Ecclesiastes 1:12–26, the Preacher will draw on his experiences and privileges as king to demonstrate the futility of knowledge, self-indulgence, wise living, and work. He concludes that these are all fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying, and instead encourages his audience toward faith in God, who enables His people to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Listen in as we study this passage and seek to apply it to our lives.
