Love Like Jesus | 1 John 3:11-24

We are half way through our sermon series called The Letters of John: A Study of First, Second, and Third John. As we have discussed, these books are believed to be written by the apostle John, an eyewitness to the gospel of Jesus, teaching believers how to live the Christian life. Though short and sweet, they provide tremendous wisdom about the character of God, guarding against deception, and promises of Christian assurance. This week we will be studying 1 John 3:11-24. In this passage, John reminds his audience how the Christian message has always been a call to believe in God and love one another. Also, he shares how Jesus’ sacrifice serves as an invitation for them to love like Christ, both in word and deed. He ends by telling them that this kind of love and the presence of the Holy Spirit are evidence they belong to God. Join us this week as we study the passage and apply biblical principles to our lives.
