Love One Another, God is Love | 1 John 4:7-12

In our worship gatherings, we are devoting our study time to a sermon series called The Letters of John: A Study of First, Second, and Third John. As we have discussed, these books are believed to be written by the apostle John, an eyewitness to the gospel of Jesus, teaching believers how to live the Christian life. Though short and sweet, they provide tremendous wisdom about the character of God, guarding against deception, and promises of Christian assurance. This week we will be studying 1 John 4:7-12. In this passage, John encourages his audience to love one another, explaining to them that love is from God and those who do not love are not from God. He reminds them God is love and His love was made visible in Christ. His point is twofold: God’s love should motivate them to love one another and love for others proves God lives in them through the Spirit. Listen in as we study the passage and apply biblical principles to our lives.
