Confronting Religious Hypocrisy | Mark 12
We are 19 weeks into our current teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. This series is intended to help us know who Jesus Christ is and what it means to be one of His followers. This week, we are studying Mark 12, observing Jesus as He Confronts Religious Hypocrisy. In His final days in Jerusalem, we will see how Jesus answers the tests of the religious leaders and rebukes them for their hypocrisy, revealing Himself as the rejected yet authoritative Son of God. A Royal Entrance | Mark 11
We are 18 weeks into our current teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. This series is intended to help us know who Jesus Christ is and what it means to be one of His followers. This week, we are studying Mark 11, discussing Jesus’ Royal Entrance. We will see how Jesus enters Jerusalem, welcomed by many as the messianic king, and how His actions provoke the religious leaders, who continue to question His authority. The First Will Be Last | Mark 10:32-52
We are well over halfway through our current teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. This series is intended to help us know who Jesus Christ is and what it means to be one of His followers. So far, we have seen many ways that Jesus has revealed who He is—the Messiah—and all that we are called to do in following Him. This week we are studying Mark 10:32-52 discussing how The First Will Be Last. We will see how on His way to Jerusalem, Jesus again reveals His messianic identity by predicting His coming suffering, addressing the pride of the disciples, and healing a blind man in response to his faith. The Humble and the Proud | Mark 10:13-31
We are well over halfway through our current teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. This series is intended to help us know who Jesus Christ is and what it means to be one of His followers. So far, we have seen many ways that Jesus has revealed who He is—the Messiah—and all that we are called to do in following Him. As Jesus continues to travel towards Jerusalem, He takes time to teach through several interactions that the Kingdom of God belongs to the humble, not the proud. Listen in as we study Mark 10:13-31 and see how Jesus calls us to avoid pride, to humble ourselves, and find the path that leads to eternal life.
Jesus Teaches on Divorce | Mark 10:1-12
We are currently in a teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. The purpose of this series has been to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus—how to enter into a relationship with Him, and how to carry on a relationship with Him. As we have observed, Mark’s Gospel centers around two questions: who is Jesus, and what kind of Christ is He? Now that Peter has clearly confessed Jesus as the Messiah, the rest of the book focuses on the suffering nature of His coming. This week, we will be studying Mark 10:1-12 as Jesus Teaches on Divorce. We will see that while teaching in Judea, Jesus corrects the Pharisees' misunderstanding of divorce, reaffirming that marriage is a one-flesh covenant, not a casual union. The Disciples Still Confused | Mark 9:14-50
In our Sunday series Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark we have made it to Mark 9:14-50. In this section we will see despite growing clarity about who He is, Jesus’ followers still respond with doubt, pride, and rivalry—missing His call to faith, humble service, and radical obedience. Listen in as we discuss God’s patient nature with humans as we are slow to understand and believe.
Who Do You Say I Am? | Mark 8:22-9:13
We are over halfway through our Sunday teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. Mark’s account, believed to be based on the teachings of Peter, is the most concise summary of Jesus’ ministry. This book gives a brief but clear presentation of what it means to be a disciple of Christ. This week we will be studying Mark 8:22-9:13 discussing Peter’s Confession of Christ. As Jesus’ earthly ministry nears its turning point, in this passage we will see how the disciples begin to receive more spiritual sight as He reveals His identity as the Christ, foretells His death, displays His glory in the Transfiguration, and calls His disciples to take up their cross and follow Him. Listen in as we discuss self-denial and sacrificial devotion.
Signs and Unbelief | Mark 8:1-21
We are currently in a teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. The purpose of this series has been to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus—how to enter into a relationship with Him, and how to carry on a relationship with Him. So far we have observed Jesus’ ministry in Galilee and its spread beyond. This week, we will be studying Mark 8:1-21, discussing Signs and Unbelief. In this passage, we will see how Jesus continues to authenticate His mission through signs and wonders, but how the Pharisees’ hypocrisy and spiritual blindness lead Him to warn His disciples not to fall into the same unbelief. Ministry to the Gentiles | Mark 7:24-37
This semester, our Sunday sermon series is called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. This book focuses on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus started His ministry in Galilee, and currently we are in the part of the book where Jesus extends His ministry beyond Galilee to other unreached places. This week, we will be studying Mark 7:24-37, observing Jesus’ Ministry to the Gentiles. In this passage, we will see how Jesus expands His mission into Gentile territory by casting out a demon from a Syrophoenician child and healing a deaf man in the Decapolis. Though much of His actions thus far have focused on the Jews, His coming encounters will foreshadow the inclusion of Gentiles in the Kingdom of God. Listen in as we study this passage and apply it to our lives—learning who is welcome in God’s Kingdom.
The Traditions of Men | Mark 7:1-23
We are in the middle of a teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. In this book, Mark tells the concise and fast pace account of Jesus, the Son of God, who has come to call disciples to follow Him. This week, we will be studying Mark 7:1-23, observing the Traditions of Men. In this story, we will see how Jesus corrected the Pharisees’ man-made traditions, rebuking their hypocrisy, and teaching that true defilement comes from the human heart. Join us on Sunday as we study this passage and apply it to our lives—learning the kind of worship that is truly pleasing to God.
Compassion in the Wilderness | Mark 6:30-56
We are 9 weeks into a sermon series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. Those words come directly from the mouth of Jesus describing a major theme in this book, a call to discipleship. This week we will be studying Mark 6:30-56 observing Jesus’ Compassion in the Wilderness. After the death of His cousin John, during a time of increasing need and growing crowds, Jesus revealed His power and compassion by feeding the masses, walking on water, and healing the sick. Join us as we seek to grow in our understanding of God and apply His beauty to our lives.
Opposition and Sending | Mark 6:1-29
We are currently in a teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. This book focuses on Jesus’ earthly ministry as He seeks to make disciples. This book is divided into several sections—the first part of the book focuses on His ministry in Galilee and this week we will see His ministry shift to regions beyond. As we gather together, we will be studying Mark 6:1-29, seeing how Jesus sends His disciples to expand the message of the Kingdom of God beyond Galilee, despite increasing opposition marked by His rejection in Nazareth and the execution of John the Baptist. Join us as we explore the themes of opposition and sending and seek to apply timeless truths to our lives.
Mighty Works of Jesus | Mark 4:35-5:43
We are currently in a sermon series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. Those words come directly from Jesus as an invitation to become a disciple of His. This gospel provides a concise and direct account of Jesus’ ministry, teaching us what it means to follow Him. This week we will be studying Mark 4:35-5:43 observing the Mighty Works of Jesus. In this section we will see another example of Jesus demonstrating His authority—this time over nature, demons, disease, and death. As He does so, His miracles serve the purpose of revealing His identity as the Son of God to a world struggling with fear and unbelief. Join us this week as we learn more about Jesus’ identity and what that means for our lives.
Jesus Teaches in Parables | Mark 4:1-34
For the next several months we are spending our Sunday morning teaching time in a series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. Though this book focuses on sharing the historical events of Jesus’ earthly ministry, it is extremely practical—calling the audience to follow Him, the Son of God. This week we will be studying Mark 4:1-34, observing how Jesus teaches in parables—short stories or illustrations used to make a key point. In this passage we will get a closer look at Jesus’ teaching ministry as He shares with the growing crowd the parables of the sower, the growing seed, and the mustard seed. We will see how all of these stories share veiled truths about God’s Kingdom, but privately He explains their meanings to His disciples, showing that the Kingdom grows gradually and is understood by those open to His message. Join us as we dive deeper into Jesus’ message of the Kingdom of God.
Faith or Hardness of Heart? | Mark 3
We are currently in a teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. This gospel account is incredibly helpful because it provides the most compact explanation of Jesus’ ministry. It is easy to read, easy to understand, and easy to get the big picture, calling the audience into a personal relationship with Jesus—the Son of God. This week we are going to study Mark 3 and observe the two possible responses to Jesus’ ministry—faith or hardness of heart. In our passage we will see how Jesus heals on the Sabbath, appoints the Twelve, confronts accusations from religious leaders, and interacts with His family. Join us as we learn from these stories, and consider how we respond to Jesus in our lives.
Questions About Fasting and the Sabbath | Mark 2:18-28
Several weeks ago we started a series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. We chose this name because a significant emphasis in Mark’s gospel is Jesus’ call to discipleship. This book tells us who Jesus is, how to enter into a relationship with Him, and what it means to follow Him with your life. So far in our study we have been observing Jesus as he begins His earthly ministry. This week we will be continuing that quest as we study Mark 2:18-28. In our passage we will see how Jesus responds to growing questions regarding His practices. Specifically we will observe Him teach about fasting and the Sabbath, revealing the people’s misunderstandings and asserting His authority over religious traditions. Join us as we learn about the true meaning of religious practices and how that applies to our lives.
Jesus Confuses the Religious Leaders | Mark 2:1-17
Recently we started a new series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. In this letter the author proclaims the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, the Son of God—calling people to follow Him. The purpose of our series is to learn what it means to be a disciple of Jesus as Mark makes clear who Jesus is, how to enter into a relationship with Him, and how to walk with Him. This week we will be studying Mark 2:1-17 and will see how Jesus’ ministry brings confusion. We will see that as His ministry grows, Jesus will confound the religious leaders by claiming the authority to forgive sins and by fellowshipping with sinners. Join us this week as we consider the purpose of His ministry and what that has to do with our lives.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ | Mark 1:1-13
We are starting a new series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. Mark is one of the four gospel accounts and in it, the letter proclaims the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The purpose of our series is to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus, which is relevant for both believers and non-believers. In our study, Mark will make clear who Jesus is, how to enter into a relationship with Him, and how to carry on a relationship with Him. This week, we are going to start our series by studying Mark 1:1-13—an introduction to The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
