We are currently in a teaching series called Follow Me: The Gospel of Mark. The purpose of this series has been to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus—how to enter into a relationship with Him, and how to carry on a relationship with Him. As we have observed, Mark’s Gospel centers around two questions: who is Jesus, and what kind of Christ is He? Now that Peter has clearly confessed Jesus as the Messiah, the rest of the book focuses on the suffering nature of His coming. This week, we will be studying Mark 10:1-12 as Jesus Teaches on Divorce. We will see that while teaching in Judea, Jesus corrects the Pharisees' misunderstanding of divorce, reaffirming that marriage is a one-flesh covenant, not a casual union.
